Bags are made from stepped end, gusseted, or flat tubes. Hot melt adhesive is applied to the flap at one end of the bag. After the bag is filled in the packaging plant, the bag is closed on a pinch bottom field closer which re-heats the hot melt, folds the top flap over the bag, and completes the top closure.
